Position Description
POSITION PERFORMANCE PLAN – Oncology Infusion Nurse, Cancer Center
Position Summary: The Oncology Infusion Nurse is a registered nurse responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s status, plan of care, and goal achievement in the Cancer Center. Care is provided in a compassionate, professional, ethical, and knowledgeable fashion based on the Caring Model, exemplifies the mission, vision and values of Rush Copley, and is in accordance with policies and procedures. The nurse is expected to uphold the most ethical and safe processes while keeping the care of the patient as top priority. The position works closely with the entire multidisciplinary team and must have a complete understanding of own limitations and, in turn, seek advice, judgment, and support of others, when necessary.
Position Requirements
License: Must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required for hires or transfers on/after 5/1/2018.
Certifications: BLS required. Oncology Nursing Certification preferred; required within two years of hire.
Special Skills: Completion of Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Course within three months of hire/transfer. Maintains provider status every two years.
