I am in the process of reactivating my RN license after being a stay at home parent for the past 7 years. I have completed my skills portion for the Nurse Refresher/Re-Entry course at Austin Community College and I am set to complete the didactic portion 12/14/25. The TX BON requires that an applicant complete 80 hours of clinical patient contact under the supervision of an RN in order to reactivate an RN license. I’ve got an MSN in Nursing Education and my background is mostly emergency medical experience which first began in the pre-hospital setting as an EMT prior to working as an RN in the emergency department. I have already obtained my BLS certification and I am currently working to obtain my ACLS and PALS certifications while completing the didactic portion of my refresher course. I’ve also purchased personal liability insurance through NSO. I am open to any acute care area for the clinical experience and am appreciative for any consideration and direction in this process.
